What is Neurofeedback?

More than 50 years of scientific research supports the use of neurofeedback, a non-invasive and painless training of the brain to produce specific brain wave activity that will help you relax as well as be more efficient in school, work and daily tasks. Neurofeedback teaches your brain to react differently to emotions and events. Its effects can be long lasting and often continue to improve long after training is completed.

Sessions are completed in a comfortable environment and designed to be relaxing. We use small EEG sensors and an EEG device to measure signals in your brain. Our program takes the measured signals, analyzes them to produce rewards for the desired changes and inhibits unwanted patterns in the brain via musical tones and chimes. The sounds you hear are the feedback and provide the brain with a mirror of its own function so it can adjust.  This process enables the brain to see that what it is doing is not an efficient use of its energy, it will want to make a better choice and adjust its own brainwave activity in order to balance itself. Sessions involve no effort as the conscious mind is not involved. Over time you are able to teach your brain new and lasting positive habits. Neurofeedback is a non-medical alternative to healing your brain and body.

We believe in whole brain training and use a balanced approach to see what’s going on in the brain. Neurofeedback works with a part of the body over which we don’t normally think we can control- called the autonomic nervous system. Supporting your brain to help itself release “stuck” brainwave activity and interrupting negative patterns allows the brain to function better and do what it is designed to do. Neurofeedback simply stabilizes the brain and increases resiliency, allowing you to develop more choices in how you respond. When the brain is functioning more optimally, your entire being will benefit.

Who is Neurofeedback for?

Neurofeedback is for everyone. Everyone has the ability to change how their brain works by exercising it. We have worked with clients as young as 6 years of age and all the way up to 90 years young. People from all walks of life have safely used neurofeedback for a variety of purposes.
